Brie Costello, BA
BA Degree / Certified Purpose Guide / End-of-life Midwife / Yoga Teacher / Herbalism Apprentice
BIO
While Brie has had a circuitous career path that includes working in the music industry, client management for Olympic athletes, and fundraising, the constant has always been relationship building. She received her B.A. from the University of Denver, where she studied philosophy, international studies, and political science. Since then, she has been devoted to following her curiosity, becoming a 200-hour certified yoga instructor, Purpose Guide, budding herbalist, gardener, caretaker of chickens, beekeeper, and dog mom. Brie has a deep belief in the power and importance of elders. She had the privilege of growing up in a large family surrounded by elders, which instilled in her this deep reverence and appreciation. To continue to explore this passion, she has been volunteering with Southern Maine Agency on Aging, teaching chair yoga, and recently finished the INELDA End of Life Doula training program in February. Over this past year, she has been engaged in conversations with various groups discussing what it means to value and have reverence for elders in different contexts and the importance of recognizing and honoring elders within any community.
